Mirvish Productions is, today, Canada’s largest commercial theatre production company. They have helped Toronto become one of the most important theatrical centres in the world, along side Broadway and London’s West End.
The Challenge
With multiple subscription and non-subscription productions on stage at all times, the marketing department needs to ensure all the advertising gets set up properly and delivered on time. Each production comes with its own set of show brand guidelines, and requires a variety of marketing efforts.
Billboards, newspaper dailies, social media, large format signage, email marketing, in theatre and front-of-house theatre signage, street team support, and transit wraps are just some of the applications required.
The Solution
Wade and the team has worked on theatre marketing with Mirvish for over 18 years, on big stage classics like The Lion King and Les Miserables to new comers Dear Evan Hansen and Come From Away. With the introduction of Off-Mirvish Productions, Sherpa has worked on new independent theatre marketing as well—shows like Studio 180’s King Charles III and The Musical Stage’s Fun Home.
Sherpa is on call to work directly with the in-house marketing team as needed. We work with printers, publications, and developers to ensure all the marketing we create is consistent with the production’s branding, up to date with the Mirvish message, and on time for the end user. Our relationship with the Mirvish family is one of our proudest accomplishments.
